The P.E.A.C.E. and H.O.P.E. Center for Youth Skills Building Program is designed to give young people hands-on opportunities to learn practical, creative, and career-focused skills in a structured and supportive environment. The program helps participants build confidence, discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and real-world experience that can be applied in school, future employment, and everyday life. Program activities may include entrepreneurship, design, barbering, media, merchandise creation, workforce readiness, and other skill-based learning opportunities offered by the Center.

The Barber Skills Training Program provides youth with real-world, hands

The Barber Skills Training Program provides youth with real-world, hands-on experience in the art and business of barbering. Led by licensed barbers, this program introduces participants to foundational techniques while building discipline, confidence, and career readiness. This 100 hour curriculum is the identical, but shortened version, to that learned in Barber School. Classes begin at 8am-12pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
What Youth Will Learn:
- Basic haircutting techniques and sectioning
- Fading, blending, and lining skills
- Sanitation, hygiene, and proper tool care
- Understanding barber tools and equipment
- Customer service and professional communication
- Time management and work ethic
Hands-On Experience:
- Practice cutting techniques on mannequins and live demonstrations
